Voters will determine whether or not to continue the one-cent local option sales tax and it is imperative for our county that you vote YES! The many projects accomplished to date include library expansions, building the senior center, improving parks & recreation, completion of the business park's core road, and many miles of paved roads would NOT have happened without the Better Place Plan. The Putnam County Library is excited to present a free Nature Program that will visit each library location. The theme of these programs will be sea turtles. Carole Mackey of the Audubon Society will present these nature explorations.

One thousand years ago (give or take), Carole earned a BA at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois with a major in English and a minor in Math and then obtained teaching certification K through 12. After graduation, she taught Freshman English, Algebra and Essential Math for two years and left the classroom to begin her family. Each of her programs involves presentation of subject matter by various means--puppets, films, storybooks, slides, questions and answers, pictures/posters--crafts, and games. Though she does not have all of her props in Florida, Carole still feels enthusiastic to present informative and interesting nature programs on sea turtles, owls, bats, spiders, frogs, wolves, skunks, and raccoons.

This program will be held at the Headquarters Library (located at 601 College Road in Palatka). For more information, call the library at 386-329-0126.

The Melrose Library is excited to present a free Nature Program that will visit each library location. The theme of these programs will be sea turtles. Carole Mackey of the Audubon Society will present these nature explorations. One thousand years ago, Carole earned a BA at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois with a major in English and a minor in Math and then obtained teaching certification K through 12.
