Our Mission:
WHIF is a radio ministry seeking to impact and influence individuals, families and our community for Jesus Christ through Christian music and programming.
Who are we?
Hope FM is WHIF, we serve the local area, including Putnam, and portions of Clay and St. Johns counties, since 1996. We feature contemporary Christian music and programming and we broadcast 24 hours a day. We are governed by a board of directors made up of people from within the community. We currently employ three staff members and use many volunteers.
Who Listens?
The majority of our listeners are women and families. Unlike other radio formats, our listeners are extremely loyal. Since they want to hear Christian music, they leave their radio dial locked to 91.3 Hope FM and choose to support the businesses they hear about on our station.
How are we funded?
Approximately 50% of our income is donated by our listeners. A small amount comes from other fund raisers, local churches and some of the programming we air. The remainder is raised through our business partner program. Also known as underwriting.
What is Business Underwriting?
As a non-commercial, non-profit 501C3 organization we are not permitted to air typical commercials. However the FCC does say we can publicly thank businesses for their donations and support. And though the wording is not the same as typical commercials, it is very effective for businesses in getting their name out to our listeners.
