What you should know about me:
An “On-Air” Personality at 91.3 Hope FM since October 2014. Hailing from Frankfort, Indiana, I entered the U.S. Navy in 1978 and retired after 25 years. I was working in Naval and Commercial ship repair as a Project Manager when I answered the call to ministry. I now serve as the Associate Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, Chaplain at Putnam Community Medical Center, Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Solantic Care Center, Vintage Care, KIVA and Lakewood rehabilitation facilities performing prayer vigils and visitations. I am a member of the Putnam County Ministerial Association and Chamber of Commerce. I have been a member of the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home Family for more than 9 years serving as a Funeral Assistant, Veteran’s Advocate and Orator. I enjoy helping people, praying for people and serving this community. I also enjoy hunting, fishing, raising birds, and of course, family. Jo and I started the “Gray Goose Game Bird” farm to honor the memory of her father, Richard Amorese, who was an avid hunter and duck guide. We reside in East Palatka with my wife Jo, daughter Amanda and have the privilege of raising four grand-children in our home that bring be us great joy, Rialynne, Emma, Kinsleigh and Kolton. In 2020, Jo and I celebrated 25 years of marriage.
“Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). We are commanded to “be still” in this verse. This spiritual calm, God commands! So as our world seems to crumble around us, the call from Scripture is: “don’t flinch in faith in God”. Stand still—not because of a self-made confidence, not because you are the most composed person in the face of disaster, not because “you’ve seen it all”, Be still because of what you know ABOUT God.
It is “God’s past” that provides calm for “our future.” Know that he is God! Know it, not merely intellectually, but practically, spiritually, and emotionally.
“It tells me that even if I am the last person standing,… be still.”
Which Hope FM song gives you hope:
“Keep Making Me” – The Sidewalk Prophets
That song is the “soundtrack” of my personal walk with Christ. Being so focused on Him that He was fixing the brokenness in me, even when I didn’t want it, or I wasn’t looking.
It’s important to remember that in God’s time, things will happen. If you can be fully trusting and loving Him in those moments of loneliness, emptiness and brokenness you are going to be greatly, greatly rewarded. Not monetarily or emotionally, but spiritually!
I am hands-down a “Meat and Potatoes” guy. A great steak, medium rare and a loaded baked potato with a side of green beans w/some ham in it.
When I’m not on the radio, you’ll find me…
Praying for folks in the hospital, nursing homes, hospice facility or working with the bereaved. Working in my home church. Then home for some family love where I am blessed to be able to spend time with the grandchildren.
