An event every week that begins at 8:00am on Thursday, repeating until July 25, 2019
St. Johns County Library’s theme is Space Camp. On July 11 at 11am, Space Camp explores the moon. Where did it come from? How are tides affected by
it? Children of all ages are welcome to join in the interactive fun. And it just so happens that a talented author from St. Augustine was born and raised in
the same town in Ohio that Neil Armstrong was: Wapakoneta.
On July 18 at 1:30 pm,
families can come meet artist/author Linda M. Brandt at the Hastings Branch Library along with her character, Henry the Tulip Bulb. “To the Moon, Henry” is an interactive
program that allows children to be the authors of Henry’s next adventure–a trip to the moon. All will learn how to create an exciting story and organize it with storyboards.
Henry’s message is that we’re always happier with an “Attitude of Gratitude.” Come meet Linda and Henry and have a great time.
On July 25 at 11 am, Space Camp winds up with “Exploring Bodily Functions in Space”. What’s the best way to sneeze in a space suit? How do they use the toilet and wash in
zero gravity? Find out in the last of the Space Camp programs. All Space Camp adventures include hands-on activities, crafts, and fun. For more information, see Ms.
Michelle at the library.
