Are YOU in a State of Emergency?

Writer's picture: Robin RobinsonRobin Robinson

The governor has declared a State of Emergency for Putnam County.  (If you're wondering what that means, you're not alone.) It's a governmental phrase saying he's setting up the chain of command for the emergency response, granting those people broad leeway to cope with what's happening.

But in our hearts there doesn't have to be a state of emergency!

The bible tells us in Colossians to let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts. Jesus said "I am with you always." I'm pretty sure always even includes hurricanes!

To me, peace is the most important thing we could ever have. And once we've got it for ourselves, it's our responsibility and privilege to share it with others.

2 Corinthians 5:20 says we are Christ’s ambassadors.  So not only do we not have to be afraid, we can be the ones to bring hope and peace to others around us.  Even in the chaos of a storm.
