I noticed something when I went to church on Sunday; everyone was really nice to me. And, this is not a bad thing at all. I got so many compliments! Who can complain about that, right?
The reason for all the complements? I just got my hair cut.
But then it got me thinking. We typically offer compliments to someone when something changes on the outside. That makes the compliments easy. “I love your hair!” “Love that outfit!” “Your makeup looks great today!”
What if you were to give someone a compliment based on what’s changed on the inside?
“I see how hard you’re working. I’m proud of you.”
“I know being a mom is tough, but you’re doing a great job.”
“You may not feel like it right now, but you are loved.”
Imagine how much better the world would be if we cared as much about what happens on the inside, as what happens on the outside.
When we spread love, let’s show love to the whole person.
