New Music Friday: "Come Jesus Come" by CeCe Winans

ree

CeCe Winans has a way of singing that makes you stop and really feel the hope behind every word. “Come Jesus Come” is one of those songs that puts longing and faith into words we’ve all felt at one time or another. It’s a heartfelt prayer for the day Jesus returns, a cry for peace, healing, and restoration in a world that feels so broken at times.

Sometimes I fall to my knees and pray, Come Jesus come, Let today be the day

Right from the start, the song feels like a conversation with God, honest and raw. There’s no pretending, no polished prayer, just a simple, real longing for Jesus to come and make things right. CeCe’s voice carries both the ache of waiting and the deep hope that comes from knowing this world isn’t our final home.

We’ve been waiting so long, For the day You return, To heal every hurt, And right every wrong

That’s something every believer can connect with. Life is full of hurt and unanswered questions, but this song reminds us that Jesus is coming back, and when He does, there will be no more pain, no more division, no more tears. It’s a reminder that God’s promises are still true, even when we’re weary from the waiting.

2 Peter 3:13 says, “But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.” That verse captures the same heartbeat as CeCe’s song, a deep, expectant hope in what’s to come.

“Come Jesus Come” isn’t just a song you listen to; it’s one you pray. It helps us lift our eyes from the chaos around us and focus on the One who will one day wipe every tear away. Until that day comes, we keep holding on to the hope that won’t fade, and we keep singing, “Come Jesus come.
