New Music Friday: "Lift Me Up" By Blessing Offor

This just in... It's New Music Friday!

We’ve all been there… seasons in life when our own strength just isn’t enough. When the weight feels heavier than usual and we need someone else to come alongside us.

A shoulder to cry on, a voice that speaks truth, a prayer lifted on our behalf, a hand to steady us when we feel like we might fall, someone to simply sit with us and remind us we’re not alone.

That’s the heartbeat behind “Lift Me Up” by Blessing Offor.

There’s something so honest in the lyrics: “Sometimes I feel like I just keep pretending… and I’m slowly going out of my mind…” “Sometimes I need somebody to remind me what I’m made of…

Those words hit because they’re real. We all have moments where we’re tired of trying to be strong, where the “brave face” we’ve been wearing starts to feel heavy on our bones and weary on our souls. Times when we don’t need advice… we just need someone to lift us up and to walk along side of us.

And that’s exactly what Scripture calls us to do.

Galatians 6:2 says, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

This isn’t just a nice idea, it’s calling. As believers, we’re meant to step into each other’s struggles. To notice when someone is running low on hope. To offer encouragement when their strength is fading. To be the hands and feet of Jesus in very real, very practical ways.

Sometimes that looks like praying with someone. Sometimes it’s sending a simple text at the right moment. Sometimes it’s just showing up and sitting in the silence with them.

And sometimes… it’s reminding them who they are, just like the song says. Reminding them they are loved, chosen, and held by a God who hasn’t let go.

We don’t do this alone either. While we lift others, God is always lifting us.

He places people in our lives at just the right time, people who help carry us when we’re too weak to stand.

Let’s ask ourselves two things:

Who can I lift up?

And who might God be using to lift me?
