This one's got a little country swagger, a little gospel joy, and a whole lot of truth packed into it.
Micah Tyler's new song, "Perfectly," celebrates a God who loves us perfectly despite the countless ways we fail Him. And if we're honest, those failures happen more often than we'd like to admit. Yet God's love isn't based on our performance, it's rooted in His character and demonstrated through the cross.
The heart of the song is found in these powerful lyrics:
"Oh, perfectly known, perfectly made Because of the cross, I am perfectly saved."
What a beautiful reminder! God knows everything about us: the victories, the struggles, the mistakes we've made, and the ones we'll make tomorrow. Nothing about us is hidden from Him. Yet He still chooses to love us.
Micah sings about failures, mistakes, and falling short. The truth is, when those failures are placed beside the perfect grace of God, they no longer define us. The cross has the final word.
The Apostle Paul wrote, "But where sin increased, grace increased all the more" (Romans 5:20). That doesn't make our sin insignificant, it makes God's grace immeasurable. Through Jesus, we are not merely tolerated by God; we are forgiven, redeemed, and welcomed into His family.
"Perfectly" is a song for anyone who feels weighed down by regret, shame, or the constant pressure to "get it right." It's a reminder that
So, if you've been carrying around the weight of your mistakes, take a moment to let this truth sink in: You are known to a perfect God who sees your imperfections but loves you. Perfectly.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God." — Ephesians 2:8
It's a message worth singing along to.
And how fun is this video!?
