There’s something so comforting about a song that reminds us God isn’t finished with us yet. “Still” by Crowder with Zach Williams is exactly that kind of reminder. It speaks to the everyday struggles we face, the battles with our own failures, the weight of not feeling “enough,” and the frustration of spinning our wheels without moving forward. But through it all, there’s this hope: God is still working.
One of the most powerful lines is: “He’s working on me still, changing me piece by piece still, making me better, gonna do His thing, don’t care how long it takes ’til…” It’s a confession and a promise all in one. We may not see progress as quickly as we’d like. We may slip up, fall short, and struggle with shame. But God’s not giving up on us. His grace is patient, steady, and always at work behind the scenes.
The song captures what so many of us feel but don’t always say out loud. We keep track of our mistakes. We get tired of fighting the same battles. We wonder if we’ve let God down too many times. Yet the truth comes through in these lyrics: “When I’m broken, when I’m hurting, my God’s still working.” That’s the heart of the gospel, God doesn’t quit on us, even when we feel like quitting on ourselves.
This song echoes the promise found in Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” God isn’t finished with us yet. He’s still shaping, healing, and redeeming every part of our story.
So if you’ve been feeling stuck, discouraged, or like you’re not measuring up, let “Still” remind you of this simple truth: you don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to be perfect. God’s not done with you, and He won’t stop working until His masterpiece is complete.
