New Music Friday: "Turn" By Ben Fuller

There’s something about reaching the end of yourself that strips away all pretense. When the strength runs out, when the words won’t come, when it feels like every direction leads to a dead end—those are the moments that often mark the beginning of something sacred. Those are the moments when we finally turn.

That’s the heartbeat of Ben Fuller’s new song, “Turn.” It’s more than just a new track added to our playlist—it’s a song that captures the raw, honest place so many of us find ourselves in from time to time: the place where we realize that all we can do is fall into grace.

Ben Fuller has always had a way of writing songs that come from deep places, often rooted in his own journey of redemption and faith. In “Turn,” he invites us into a story that’s deeply personal and yet entirely relatable. From the very first lines, there’s a sense of vulnerability that draws you in. And as the song builds, so does its message: when we’ve run out of options, Jesus is still right there.

One of the most powerful moments in the song comes when Ben sings:

“When I'm weak, You are strong When I fall short, You go on and on When I run, I can't run long 'Cause Your love will chase me down 'til I've got Nowhere to turn but Jesus.”

There’s such humility and truth in those lines. They echo the Apostle Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 12:9—“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” In the upside-down way of the Kingdom, our weakness isn’t something to hide; it’s where we meet the unending strength of God. The love of Jesus doesn’t wait for us to get our act together. It chases us, even as we run, and gently turns us around.

Later in the song, Ben gets even more personal:

“Couldn't get the words out to worship But You heard me through the tears Turns out I never had nothing to prove And I sure don't have nothing to fear.”

These lyrics may be quiet, but they speak volumes. Sometimes, worship isn’t loud. It’s not a song or a raised hand—it’s a tear in the dark, a whisper from a weary heart. And still, God hears. What a relief to know that in God’s presence, we don’t have to perform. We don’t have to prove anything. We’re already loved. We’re already seen. We’re already home.

Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” That nearness—that tender, saving presence—is exactly what this song reminds us of. When all the noise fades and we find ourselves at the end of the road, we’re not abandoned. We’re found. We’re carried. We’re turned toward grace.

So wherever you are today—whether you're walking in confidence or barely hanging on—may this song be a reminder that there’s always a place to turn. And when every other road runs out, there’s still Jesus.

We invite you to pause, breathe, and let this song wash over you. You can watch the music video below. Maybe play it for someone else who needs it too. Because sometimes the right song at the right moment becomes more than just music—it becomes a lifeline.
