New Music Friday: "Washed" By Elevation Rhythm

“I’ve been washed in the water; I’ve been washed in the blood… I’m as good as new!”

What a powerful line. Right away, this song reminds us of the incredible transformation that happens when Jesus steps into our lives. We all know what it feels like to carry around guilt, regret, shame, or the weight of past mistakes. Sometimes those burdens try to convince us that we’ll never really change… that we’ll always be defined by what we’ve done.

But this song boldly declares the opposite.

Through Christ, we are washed clean. Not patched up. Not “slightly improved.” Completely made new.

The imagery of water throughout Scripture often points to cleansing, refreshing, and renewal. And when the song says, “washed by the blood,” it points directly to the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross. His grace doesn’t just cover our mistakes temporarily — it completely changes our identity. That’s why 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new is here!”

That’s worth celebrating.

You can hear the joy of freedom all throughout this song. It’s upbeat, energetic, and full of praise because when you truly understand what God has done for you, worship becomes a natural response. You can’t help but sing along, clap your hands, or tap your feet. It's not just the tempo that will get you moving, but the message. There’s something beautiful about music that reminds us we don’t have to live chained to our past anymore.

Maybe today you need that reminder.

So turn this one up loud today. Let it remind you that because of Jesus, your story isn’t defined by failure … You’re clean!

You’ve been washed.

You’ve been made new.

And that is very good news.

Get ready to move!
