If you've ever seen the show Hoarders, as a viewer it's easy to determine just what is and isn't trash. But to the person living in the hoard, even things that really are garbage have some sort of value and can be nearly impossible to part with.
What is it that we are so inclined to keep hidden behind closed doors when it comes to emotional or spiritual issues? It's not necessarily the world or even our closest friends and family members that we want to keep these things from.
Strangely enough, we think we can conceal these things from God, when in reality exactly what we need to do is expose them to Him! Then we can find true and lasting freedom, which is certainly way better than the people highlighted on Hoarders after the crew cleans up their house!
Is it time for a spiritual and emotional spring cleaning?
Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is He, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty—He is the King of glory. Psalm 24:7-10
