New Music Friday: Cochren & Co. "What Grace Can Do"
Sometimes the hardest thing to believe isn’t that God knows our mistakes… it’s that He still wants us.
“What Grace Can Do” is a powerful reminder for anyone carrying the weight of shame, regret, failure, or a past they wish they could rewrite. Michael Cochren shared that the song was written for people who feel like their mistakes have somehow disqualified them from God’s love.
But that’s not the Gospel.
God isn’t standing at a distance with His arms crossed, waiting for us to get our act together. He comes running toward us. It’s the picture Jesus gave us in the story of the prodigal son—a Father who sees His child coming home and runs to meet him.
And here's my Ricky reminder for today: I’ve made enough mistakes in my life to know that if grace depended on me getting everything right, I’d be in serious trouble! Thankfully, grace isn't about how good I can become—it’s about how good God is.
Maybe you’re carrying something today that you wish you could undo.
You can’t change yesterday. But God’s grace can change what yesterday means for tomorrow.
That’s “What Grace Can Do.”
