Happy Friday, Hope FM Family!
There is such joy in sharing the gospel and the love of God, and Seph Schluter beautifully expresses this in his new song, Running Back to You. No matter how many times we stumble or fall away from God, He is always there—waiting with open arms to welcome us back. We’ve turned our backs on Him countless times, yet He never leaves us. That’s why we give Him all of the praise!
Running Back to You is more than just a song; it’s a joyful celebration of the incredible privilege it is to have a relationship with God. And there’s something uniquely beautiful about sharing that love with others. Spreading the gospel isn’t just about words—it’s about showing the world the love that has been poured into us. The opportunity to experience God's love with others is one of the greatest joys in life.
The song’s chorus and bridge perfectly capture the essence of this message:
Back to the table, back to my home
Back to my Father who never lets go
Whatever I’m facing, I know what to do
With my arms wide open, I’m running back to You
It doesn’t matter all the times where I’ve been over my head
I’m never too far gone where Your arms cannot pull me back again
I’ve never been so lost where Your love could not fill my emptiness
I’m never too far gone where Your arms cannot pull me back again.
It’s amazing to think about how faithful and loving God is, even in our weakest moments. His love never gives up on us, even when we feel like we’ve failed or fallen too far. His arms are always open, ready to pull us back. This kind of love is life-changing, and it’s why we’re called to give Him all the praise and glory.
In talking about the heart behind Running Back to You, Seph Schluter says, “I want people to understand the joy and freedom that comes from knowing the gospel—knowing what Jesus did for us. The gospel literally means 'good news,' but for too many in the church, it feels like 'okay news.' This is actually the best news ever!”
I couldn’t agree more! To hear that we have a Savior who loves us, who died for our sins, and who desires a personal relationship with each of us—that’s the best news in the world. It’s a message that never grows old, and it’s one that changes everything.
Schluter continues: “In the gospel, Romans tells us that the power of salvation is for all who believe. It brought us from death to life, from slavery to freedom, and we get to live in that reality right now. That’s so exciting! It’s such a joyful thing to know that no matter what we’ve done or where we’ve been, we can walk in freedom today because of the gospel.”
This is the heart of the Christian faith—the transformative power of God’s love that makes us new. Through Jesus, we’ve been set free from the bondage of sin and death. We no longer have to live in shame or guilt because of what Christ has done for us. Instead, we get to walk in the freedom of knowing that we are loved, redeemed, and chosen by the Creator of the universe.
As Seph Schluter puts it, “Running Back to You is a reminder that no matter where we’ve been, no matter how far we’ve wandered, we have a God who welcomes us with open arms, who calls us back to His table, and still loves us. That’s why this song was written.”
We invite you to celebrate this incredible news and give Running Back to You a listen! Let it remind you of the never-ending love of our Savior, and the joy that comes from running back to Him.
